Janis Paulson is the Chief Executive Officer of Unitek Learning, an eighteen-campus system serving the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento. Janis was raised in a small Iowa town located on the Mississippi River. Janis attended the University of Iowa and, like many of our students, was a full-Pell, first generation college student. She earned her degree in Accounting, while balancing full-time work, then moved to Chicago with Ernst & Young. After transferring to Orange County, CA, Janis began doing due diligence for an investment subsidiary of Fidelity National Financial. This work introduced her to career education, a sector she knew very little about, but quickly adopted as a life-long career. In 2008 the Orange County Business Journal named Janis CFO of the Year Award’s Transformation Agent. Janis has held the positions of Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer. She has experience with ACCSC, ABHES, ACCET and WASC. Janis believes that with a focus on quality programs, faculty and staff a college can deliver for all stakeholders including students, communities, employers, investors and taxpayers.
