CECU PAC

The CECU PAC is the federally registered, non-partisan political action committee of Career Education Colleges and Universities. The PAC enables individuals, including employees of CECU member institutions, to contribute financial support to CECU’s mission and advance our legislative and regulatory agenda.

*Note: Corporate Firm members of CECU may grant prior approval to only one national trade association PAC per calendar year. However, granting prior approval for the CECU PAC does not preclude employees of the Firm from contributing to local or state PACs, national member and ideological PACs, or the Firm’s own federal PAC. Eligible employees include those with executive, managerial or senior administrative responsibilities.

FAQs

Who may participate in the CECU PAC?

The Federal Election Commission has determined that a trade association may solicit only the restricted class of member institutions and allied member companies, i.e., their executive and administrative personnel, for contributions to the PAC. However, before the PAC may solicit, CECU must obtain written authorization (a signed Prior Approval Form) from the member institution’s principal CECU member. Please contact Deepti Taneja, who will assist you in obtaining a Prior Approval Form.

Who decides where the PAC money goes?

The PAC is governed by a diverse committee. PAC contributions are determined by a collaborative effort involving the CECU Government Relations team and the committee.

What percentage of my contribution actually goes toward candidates?

100% of your PAC contribution goes to support Federal candidates for office. Federal law permits associations like ours to establish and support political action committees. CECU pays PAC administrative and operating costs.
