2024 Career Education Review Awards

Nominations are now open for the Annual Career Education Review Awards! These national awards celebrate excellence and innovation in career education, honoring individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to our sector.

This year there are four categories of awards:

  • Exceptional Educator: Celebrates educators who inspire and empower students, advancing beneficial learning environments and enriching lives.
  • Top People Changing Career Education: Honors visionaries and innovators dedicated to advancing career education to meet the evolving needs of students and the workforce.
  • Community Impact: Recognizes organizations committed to community service and philanthropy, fostering positive change and strengthening communities.
  • Innovation in Employer Collaboration: Highlights institutions that create transformative partnerships with employers to enhance student learning and career readiness.

Selection Process: The CER Editorial Board will review all submitted materials and select the recipients of the awards.

Deadline: All nominations must be received by August 5, 2024.

Recognition: Winners will be recognized in the next Career Education Review issue.

Exceptional Educator 

The Exceptional Educator Award is designed to acknowledge and celebrate educators who exhibit outstanding dedication, commitment, and excellence in the field of teaching and learning. This prestigious award aims to honor career educators who surpass expectations by inspiring and empowering students, fostering innovative learning environments, and enriching the lives of their students.

Eligibility
Nominees should be an employee at a CECU member school or a National Association of Career Colleges (Canada) school member. 

Criteria
Nominees should demonstrate excellence in one or more of the following areas:

  • Exceptional teaching skills that engage and inspire students.
  • A commitment to advancing educational practices through innovative approaches.
  • A collaborative learning atmosphere with colleagues.
  • New knowledge and skills to enhance teaching effectiveness.


Top People Changing Career Education 

The Top People Changing Career Education Award is dedicated to recognizing and honoring the visionaries, innovators, and advocates who are at the forefront of transforming career education. These exceptional individuals share a common goal: to enhance and elevate career education, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of students and the workforce.

Eligibility
Nominees can be leaders, faculty, administrators, students, alumni, allied members, researchers, and politicians who have positively impacted postsecondary private career education. 
 
Criteria
Nominees should demonstrate one or more of the following:

  • Strong leadership in promoting career education and driving change within the sector.
  • Act as an advocate for career education, influencing policy, and raising awareness about its importance.
  • Contribute to the field through research, development, and dissemination of knowledge that advances career education.
  • Engage in activities that further the understanding and effectiveness of career education practices. 

Community Impact 

The Community Impact Award recognizes and honors organizations that make a meaningful impact through their dedication to community service and philanthropy. It celebrates those who demonstrate exceptional commitment to improving the lives of others, fostering positive change, and strengthening the fabric of their communities.

Eligibility
Nominees should be a CECU member school or organization or a National Association of Career Colleges (Canada) member. 

Criteria
Nominees should demonstrate one or more of the following:

  • A lasting or meaningful contribution to the community.
  • The positive impact the efforts have had on the community. 
  • Ongoing efforts to support and improve the community.
  • Unique solutions that address unmet needs or enhance existing programs.

 


Innovation in Employer Collaboration 

The Innovation in Employer Collaboration Awards recognize institutions that have spearheaded transformative partnerships with employers to enrich student learning and enhance career readiness. This award celebrates innovative initiatives that bridge the gap between education and industry, fostering impactful collaborations that prepare students for future success in their careers.

Eligibility
Nominees should be a CECU member school or organization or a National Association of Career Colleges (Canada) member. 

Criteria
Nominees should demonstrate one or more of the following:

  • Success in establishing and maintaining effective collaborations between schools and employers
  • Innovative programs or initiatives that bridge the gap between education and industry
  • Strategies for sustaining and expanding successful collaborations between schools and employers over time
  • Improved student outcomes, increased employment rates, or enhanced student satisfaction resulting from employer collaborations.
